With participation of Syria, UNESCO world conference on Education for Sustainable Development launched virtually
With the participation of Syria, the activities of the World Conference on Education for sustainable Development, which is being held by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, were launched virtually in the German capital Berlin under the title “Learn for our planet… work for sustainability
According to the organization, the conference, which will last for May 19th, brings together decision-makers and professionals concerned with education and sustainable development in the world with the aim of enhancing awareness about the challenges of sustainable development and reaffirming global commitments to education for sustainable development for the year 2030
The conference addresses issues including the promotion of transformative education to support learners to be responsible and active contributors to build more sustainable societies and build a healthy planet
During the World Conference, UNESCO launches “the Learning for Our Planet campaign” to serve as an invitation for countries around the world to invest in education for sustainable development and to ensure its access in learning systems around the world
