Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, has stressed that the Astana format remains the most effective solution to the crisis in Syria
“The presence of US forces in Syria is illegal, and it is clear that their fight there is not against terrorism,” Bogdanov was cited by Sputnik Agency as saying in a statement to journalists today during the 11th Middle East Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club
During the conference, Bogdanov also presented a report on Russia’s agenda for the Middle East for 2022 and Moscow’s priorities for this year
