Work resumed at Nassib border crossing with Jordan
Work has been resumed at Nassib border crossing with Jordan to receive the traffic of passengers and goods with the aim of activating the trade and tourism movement between the two countries
“Today, Nassib border center was reopened, as it used to be before the Coronavirus pandemic,” Colonel Mazen Ghandour, Head of the Immigration and Passports Center at Nassib border crossing told SANA
“The border center returned to work for the first time on October 15th, 2018, and it continued to work till the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in mid-March 2020, and five months later, it started to receive Syrian and Jordanian investors, and two months after that, the Gulf residents were allowed to transit partially till July 25th,” he added
The Ministries of Interior in Syria and Jordan agreed to reopen the crossing on the first of last August, but the security situation postponed the opening until today, according to Ghandour
On Monday, the Jordanian Interior Ministry announced that Jaber-Nassib border crossing on the Jordanian-Syrian borders will be reopened starting from today morning according to the technical and logistical measures related to reopening it for the traffic of passengers and freight
